The Real Madrid midfielder is reportedly wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet AS, the real reason why Dani Ceballos favours a move to Arsenal over Tottenham is because Unai Emery has shown more interest in signing him than Mauricio Pochettino has.

The 22-year-old faces an uncertain future with Los Blancos, and he has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu all summer long.

Tottenham have been leading the race to sign the Spaniard over the past few weeks, but Arsenal now seem to have the edge.

AS claims that Ceballos favours a move to the Gunners over Spurs, because of the interest shown in him by Unai Emery.

According to AS, the Spain international is very close to joining Arsenal on a season-long loan, a deal that will include an option to buy for Emery’s side.

And that will be a real blow to Tottenham.

AS claimed earlier this month that Ceballos was a key target for Spurs, so missing out on him to their bitter rivals really will be a kick in the teeth.

And if Arsenal do manage to win the race for the 22-year-old, it could end up being a real coup for them.

Tottenham do have other targets, however, including the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Nicolo Zaniolo, and if they manage to bring in one of those names, they will still be in a very strong position heading into the new season.
