Last night, Tottenham suffered more humiliation under Antonio Conte as they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough.
Before that defeat, Spurs hammered Leeds by a 4-0 scoreline, although if they failed to win that game, there would’ve been repercussions.
What’s the story?
Well, according to Football London, Conte threatened the Tottenham players with a punishment if they didn’t win at Elland Road.
The Italian told his squad that they’d have to spend three nights at The Lodge – the hotel at Hotspur Way – if they didn’t beat Leeds.
As opposed to a luxury vacation, the threat was intended to be more of a boot camp style stay at The Lodge, where players would have to train every morning and afternoon away from their families.
It did the trick as Spurs romped to a 4-0 win, although Conte probably wishes he included the trip to Middlesbrough as part of the threat.

The 52-year-old only arrived at Spurs in November, but he’s already resorted to threatening his players.
In our view, that doesn’t sound like Conte has much of a grip on his squad, nor does it sound as if his usual man-management techniques are working.
From the outside, it seems like this Tottenham squad is ungovernable.
A number of coaches have tried to guide Spurs to success, and most of them have failed – surely they can’t all be at fault?
Regardless of who coaches the side, Tottenham desperately need to instil a deep cultural change, or fans can expect things to remain the same.
