Report shares Madrid’s stance on paying Bale’s wages so he can move to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Gareth Bale have been dented once again by AS Sport.

The rumour mill has been in overdrive recently, with a return to Tottenham touted as a possibility again for Bale.

Reports from Marca in Spain suggested that Spurs had an interest in re-signing the Welshman and ending his Madrid misery this summer.

But any hope Spurs had of signing Bale now seems to have been extinguished.

AS claim that Bale leaving Madrid is simply ‘unfeasible’ as Madrid will not subsidise his wages if he is to depart.

Los Blancos are seemingly being very stubborn, and even though Bale is not part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans, they are prepared to keep him at the Bernabeu rather than help pay for him to play for someone else.

Given that Bale’s wages at Madrid are exorbitant, Tottenham simply cannot match them.

And unless Madrid’s stance changes or Bale is prepared to take a major pay cut, then Tottenham’s hopes of signing the 31-year-old appear to be over for another window.
