According to Eurosport, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is safe for now – and may actually receive a bigger transfer budget than first expected.
It’s claimed that Arteta will not be sacked this summer despite Arsenal only just being in the top half of the Premier League table.
The league form has been poor this season, but Arteta has taken Arsenal into the semi-finals of the Europa League, and a spot in the final is far from beyond them.
The report suggests that owner Stan Kroenke has no plans to sell the club despite mounting fan anger, and may actually decide to spend more.
Kroenke’s plan may be to appease supporters by splashing the cash in the summer transfer window, though the cynical reaction may be to suggest that these are empty promises to try and quell the frustration.
It’s also added that sources close to Arsenal believe the club are setting their transfer targets too high, aiming for signings that may well be beyond them.

There is a chance that Arsenal won’t even have European football next season, so aiming for high-profile signings may be somewhat difficult.
Maybe going for young, promising players with real potential outside of the Champions League should be a priority, which rumoured targets Max Aarons and Odsonne Edouard fulfil.
Arsenal did though manage to lure Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid last summer, and they could be aiming for similar additions by using Arteta’s powers of persuasion – something that worked with Partey and Martin Odegaard.
