Striker Taiwo Awoniyi will return to Liverpool this summer.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are planning to send striker Taiwo Awoniyi out on loan again this summer, this time to a Europa League club to further his development.
The Reds swooped to land Awoniyi in 2015 from the Imperial Soccer Academy, but have been loaning him out in recent years for work permit reasons.
After a spell in Germany with FSV Frankfurt, Awoniyi moved on to NEC Nijmegen last term, and Belgian outfit Royal Mouscron this season, where he has really made an impact.
Awoniyi has hit eight goals and six assists for Mouscron, and he will be hoping that his exploits in Belgium can aid his future Liverpool aspirations given that heh as yet to make his debut.
Now, the Liverpool Echo report that Liverpool intend to send Awoniyi out on loan again next season, this time finding him a Europa League club to join, furthering his development in a major tournament.
An athletic striker with pace and power as well as skill on the ball, Awoniyi looks to have real potential, but a spell with a Europa League club may just determine whether Liverpool see him as a first-team player or not.
Jurgen Klopp already has Roberto Firmino, Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings at his disposal, whilst Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi will be returning from their respective loans at West Brom and Wolfsburg this summer.
Awoniyi will have to show a lot in order to prove that he can play a part under Klopp, but the fact that Liverpool have such clear plans for his immediate future suggest that they rate him very highly.
