Rangers have received a £5million bid from Everton for Nathan Patterson – but they want more than double that figure for the right back.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Everton’s £5million bid has been swiftly rejected by Steven Gerrard’s men.
Rangers are allegedly seeking more than double the bid, meaning Everton will need to come back with a much better offer.
Steven Gerrard has already branded the first bid a joke, claiming it would take much, much more for Rangers to consider selling.
Patterson hasn’t played a single minute of league football so far this season, with James Tavernier still clearly Rangers’ first-choice right back.
This is a tricky situation for Rangers to balance; Tavernier is one of Rangers’ most important players, whilst Patterson is arguably their hottest prospect.

Juggling the duo won’t be easy for Gerrard, and Everton seemingly tried their luck, attempting to get Rangers to cash in on Patterson and solve the issue for them.
Everton see Patterson as the heir to Seamus Coleman at right back, but now need to really up their bid over the next week.
Gerrard would loathe to lose Patterson, and he seemingly isn’t happy with the attempts made by his former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez at Everton.
