Newcastle United players and Steve Bruce has reportedly joked about his potential sacking if the takeover does go through, according to the Daily Star.

Bruce’s future at Newcastle has been heavily speculated about, with their new owners seemingly wanting a new boss to come and take over.

Newcastle’s potential buyers have big ambitions for the future, and there are doubts over whether Bruce is the right man to lead them up the Premier League table.

Bruce, himself, is very much up for the challenge though and has suggested that the Magpies should back him to improve the team.

Newcastle’s players reportedly feel that Bruce should stick around at St. James’ Park too.

Bruce has proven popular during his first season on Tyneside, with Newcastle currently sitting in a credible 13th place in the Premier League table.

Bruce is said to be fairly relaxed over the whole situation, and he has even taken some stick over his own future with Newcastle’s players, according to the latest reports.

Bruce and the Magpies’ squad, who returned to training recently, have laughed about what could happen to the experienced manager in the coming months.

Newcastle’s takeover has taken some time to go through, with the Premier League still yet to officially confirm the deal.
