Report shares Janssen terms Spurs are discussing with Fenerbahce

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to loan Vincent Janssen to Fenerbahce for free, but on one condition.

According to a report from Turkish newspaper Aksam, Tottenham are apparently willing to let Vincent Janssen return to Fenerbahce for another loan spell free of charge – as long as the Super Lig side agree to an obligation to buy the striker permanently next summer.

Janssen has endured a miserable time since arriving at Spurs for £17 million in 2016 – fee reported by ITV. He scored just twice in 24 Premier League appearances during his first campaign and was given the chance to leave on loan for Fener last summer.

However, his time in Turkey hardly captured the imagination with five goals coming in 17 games. Nevertheless, it appears that Fenerbahce are willing to bring him back during this window.

Aksam reports that Spurs are willing to let the Dutchman leave on a loan deal that will cost Fener nothing, but Daniel Levy wants one of the terms of the deal to be that a permanent move will go through next year – the report adds that the Turkish outfit are not happy with those terms.

Levy and Mauricio Pochettino may prefer to offload Janssen as soon as possible, but unfortunately his form over the last couple of years coupled with the fee that they paid for him makes that seem incredibly unlikely at this stage.

But with it seemingly clear that Pochettino has virtually no faith in Janssen becoming Harry Kane’s main understudy, any deal that sees the 24-year-old depart permanently with Spurs bagging a fee would have to be considered the best possible scenario.
