Steve Bruce left a Sheffield Wednesday job which looked safe to take over at Newcastle United this summer.

According to the Daily Star, Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has no regrets over leaving Sheffield Wednesday to move to St. James’ Park, despite the fierce criticism that he has got since taking the job.

Bruce was surely expected some sort of backlash when he took over at Newcastle.

However the level of criticism Bruce has been subjected to has ‘stung’ the experience boss according to the report.

Newcastle have lost their first two games, while Wednesday are sat at the top of the Championship table.

There is now a genuine possibility that Newcastle and Wednesday could swap divisions at the end of the season.

But Bruce is still pleased that he took the chance to go to Newcastle.

Bruce will need to start getting some wins under his belt sooner rather than later, if he wants to win over some of the doubters.

Newcastle have started the season in dire fashion, and their performances have been even more worrying than their results.

The Magpies have looked weak and the back and idealess going forward.

Newcastle’s next match comes against Tottenham Hotspur, which is not making their task of getting their first point look easy.
