Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff wants to be at St. James’ Park next season, despite interest from Manchester United.

The London Evening Standard have suggested that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are after the Newcastle youngster this summer, and are prepared to bid around £25 million.

However, Longstaff feels that his development would be better served by sticking with Newcastle.

Longstaff grew up supporting the Magpies, and has a place in the team at St. James’ Park.

The midfielder is, therefore, not expected to push for a move to Old Trafford.

Newcastle need to keep hold of Longstaff, as they could be left short in midfield otherwise.

Newcastle could lose Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey this summer, while Mo Diame’s future is also very unclear, as he has not penned a new contract.

Longstaff has no intention to leave right now though, and that is a major boost for Newcastle, as they plan for next campaign.
