Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is entering the final year of his contract.

Benitez is keen to sign a new contract at Newcastle, to commit his future.
However, the Chronicle claim that Benitez has some serious concerns over his transfer budget.

Newcastle do have money to spend, and the Spanish boss has been told that whatever funds that are raised from player sales can be re-invested.
But Benitez fears that any big money transfers he tries to bring in will be delayed.
And, as such, Benitez is not ready to pen a new contract to keep him at St. James’ Park for the long-term.

Benitez is still said to be willing to carry on at Newcastle, but he only has a year left on his contract – which leaves his future in serious doubt.
Newcastle fans are desperate for Benitez to stay for the years ahead, but it seems that he still has not been given the assurances he is demanding to commit his future.
