According to the Telegraph, Newcastle United’s players were left ‘staring at the floor’ after Steve Bruce’s rant at them in the dressing room yesterday.

Newcastle were beaten 5-0 by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium at the weekend, and the manner of their defeat was highly concerning.

Newcastle collapsed during the second half, as Leicester cut through them at will.

Bruce launched into a tirade at his players in the dressing room, with the Magpies boss telling them some home truths.

Bruce reportedly said that Newcastle’s players were hiding behind him, as they knew he would take the bulk of the flak for their poor displays.

And Newcastle players did not argue back in the dressing room, as they reflected on their poor performance.

Newcastle’s squad apparently just looked at the floor, with their heads down, as Bruce let them know exactly what they thought of their showing.

Newcastle’s latest performance has not aided Bruce’s popularity with a fan base who were largely against his appointment in the first place.

The Magpies now sit in 19th place in the Premier League table, after what has been an awful start to the season.
