Sunderland are keen to make additions over the coming weeks.

Wales' manager Chris Coleman follows the game from the touchline during the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualification football match between Georgia and Wales in Tbilisi on October 6, 2017.

According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Chris Coleman wants to make five signings at Sunderland this month.

Sunderland are currently struggling against the drop, and despite making improvements under Coleman, they seemingly cannot get a run of wins under their belts.

The Black Cats beat Nottingham Forest over the Christmas period, but they lost their latest match against Barnsley.

Sunderland are now back in the bottom three, and Coleman realises that an injection of quality is needed.

The Wearsiders are now thought to be keen to make additions, despite having a limited transfer budget.

Sunderland are relying on getting loan deals over the line, and offloading some of their fringe players, to ensure that they are able to make the additions needed by Coleman.
