Championship outfit Derby County would surely jump at the chance to sign Fikayo Tomori on loan from Premier League powerhouses Chelsea again.

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has ‘no interest’ in returning to Derby County this summer, according to The Standard. In fact, he doesn’t want to join any Championship club with the England U21 international fully focused on proving himself in the Premier League.
In truth, this won’t come as a shock to Derby fans.
Their 2-1 play-off final defeat to Aston Villa at Wembley not only robbed The Rams of the chance to return to England’s top flight, it all-but ensured that last season’s loan stars, Tomori, Mason Mount and Harry Wilson, were very unlikely to wear the white shirt again.
Tomori was a revelation at Pride Park, winning the club’s Player of the Year award thanks to his commanding performances at centre-half. The epitome of the modern-day defender, the 21-year-old combines physicality with excellent reading of the game and a superb passing range.

No wonder Chelsea, now coached by his Tomori’s former Derby boss Frank Lampard, have big hopes for a player who has risen through the ranks at Stamford Bridge. And the next step, according to The Standard, is for Tomori to play Premier League football on a weekly basis.
This is unlikely to come at Chelsea next season so the London giants are expected to loan Tomori out again, this time to a top flight rival, though there is also interest from Germany and Portugal.
Now, the ball is in Derby’s court. How on earth do they replace their star centre-back and their reigning Player of the Year without breaking the bank?
