Premier League newcomers Aston Villa reportedly want to sign Axel Tuanzebe on a permanent basis from Manchester United.

Aston Villa would love to sign Axel Tuanzebe on a permanent basis this summer but the Manchester United defender appears to have his heart set on making the grade at Old Trafford instead, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Mail reported on Tuesday that newly promoted Villa were hoping to sign the 21-year-old defender for a bargain £8 million this summer.
Tuanzebe has enjoyed two hugely impressive loan spells at Villa Park and played a key role as Dean Smith’s side beat Derby County in the play-off final last month.
But while Aston Villa are keen to keep the England U21 international in claret and blue, it seems that he is less than enthusiastic about a potential return to the Midlands.
The MEN claims that Tuanzebe is determined to make his mark at a club he has represented since the age of eight.

Given that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently claimed that he ‘can’t wait’ to see Tuanzebe in action, it seems very likely that the youngster will be handed a chance to impress in pre-season. With the likes of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling facing uncertain futures, a Premier League berth could be on the horizon too.
Aston Villa will be disappointed by Tuanzebe’s stance but all is not lost. They have already signed Kortney Hause, remain in talks with Tyrone Mings and, according to The Mirror (19 June, page 48) a deal for Huddersfield Town’s Terence Kongolo has been considered too.
