Josh Brownhill has no interest in leaving Burnley for Aston Villa or West Ham United during the summer transfer window, according to LancsLive.

The grass is not always greener elsewhere.

When fit, Brownhill has barely missed a minute for Burnley this season, starting 22 games in his debut Premier League campaign while forming an impressive understanding with the always-underrated Ashley Westwood.

So why would he trade in an almost guaranteed place in Sean Dyche’s XI to compete with the likes of Thomas Soucek, Declan Rice, John McGinn and Jack Grealish elsewhere?

TEAMtalk reported on Sunday that Aston Villa and West Ham were rivalling Wolves, Southampton and Crystal Palace for Burnley’s £9 million midfield dynamo.

According to LancsLive, Brownhill is indeed a target for both David Moyes and Dean Smith.

But, after just 14 months at Turf Moor, the former Bristol City ace has no intention of walking away so early.

Brownhill believes that staying and playing regularly at the heart of Sean Dyche’s engine room would be beneficial for his development. And, while the 25-year-old will snub any approaches from the Hammers and the Villans, Burnley have no plans to cash in either.

This, then, feels like a transfer rumour we can draw a line under.
