Despite the fact he is just 20 years of age, it could be argued that Bukayo Saka is the most important player at Arsenal – he is pivotal to Mikel Arteta.

Now, an update from Football London suggests the Gunners are all too aware of his significance.

What’s the story?

Well, Football London believe Arsenal are planning to reward Saka with a new contract, although that isn’t the freshest piece of information.

They add that the Gunners are set to hand the England international a deal which reflects his status as a vital player at the Emirates Stadium.

As things stand, Saka earns £30,000-a-week at Arsenal, although we wouldn’t be surprised to see that tripled, if not quadrupled.

In our view, the Hale End Academy graduate will be placed closer to the likes of Ben White on the salary chart, who earns £120,000-a-week.

Bukayo Saka deserves new Arsenal contract

Without a doubt, Saka is one of the best youngsters in Europe, and he has the potential to one day win the Ballon d’Or – in our view, he is that good.

The Arsenal No.7 has scored eight goals this season, while also providing four assists as he continues to carry the Gunners on his back at times.

Thankfully, Saka has been given more help this season with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe shining on a regular basis.

If Arteta and Edu can add a lethal frontman to the squad, as well as a top central midfield option, then there’s no reason why Saka can’t win silverware next season.
