Even before this global health crisis, Christian Eriksen wasn’t impressing since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in January.
The Denmark international called time on his six-and-a-half year spell at Spurs earlier this year to join Inter Milan in an £18 million deal.
But it’s fair to say that the grass isn’t greener on the other side of Tottenham just yet.
Since joining, Eriksen hasn’t scored or set up a goal in six domestic appearances for the Italian giants.
In truth, he has barely played and only clocked 120 minutes of Serie A action since arriving and, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, he is already having ‘serious doubts’ about his move to San Siro.
To make matters worse, Inter will be signing Stefano Sensi soon, a playmaker who could jeopardise Eriksen’s chances of playing regularly next term.
This might be music to some Tottenham fans’ ears.
Yes, the 28-year-old was a brilliant servant for the Lilywhites, but a lot of supporters turned on him last June when he publicly revealed his desire to leave the club, and proceeded to produce sub-par performances for the first half of the season after failing to get a move away.
So to hear that Eriksen is doubting his decision to join Antonio Conte’s side will surely delight some Spurs supporters.
