There are ‘long-term’ doubts over the futures of several Tottenham players, including Ben Davies, according to a report.

Sky Sports claim that Davies, Serge Aurier, Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela may be moved on by Tottenham, who need ‘sell to buy’.

Left-back Davies, who Gareth Bale said Tottenham were ‘lucky’ to have, has seen his game time reduced this season, with Serge Reguilon taking his starting birth.

And whilst the Real Madrid man produced a horror show towards the back end of the season against Aston Villa, he has been one of a few successes for this under-performing Tottenham team.

In truth, Tottenham fans would be more than happy to move on the players mentioned above, as long as it means their star man, Harry Kane, stays on.

Whatever happens in the summer, a clearout is needed in North London and this declining Tottenham side needs refreshing.

This is the biggest summer of Daniel Levy’s tenure as Spurs chairman and if he gets this one wrong then it can spark potential disaster for the coming years.

In truth, Spurs should keep a player of Davies’ qualities because, and this cannot be said for many areas, but they are strong in the left-back department, unlike other areas of the pitch.

But if decent money comes in for their Welshman then they may well have to move him on.
