According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic’s Dermot Desmond made a personal call to Neil Lennon to offer him his full support.
It’s been a pretty dire season for Celtic. They crashed out of the Champions League qualifiers to Ferencvaros, and it hasn’t got any better.
They lost at home to Rangers, have conceded 17 goals in five Europa League games, have exited the Scottish League Cup to Ross County and now sit 13 points adrift of Rangers in the title race.
This was supposed to be a hugely positive season for Celtic as they chased a tenth league title in a row, but it’s becoming a complete nightmare.
Neil Lennon is under huge pressure, but Celtic put out a statement on Monday evening suggesting that he still has their total, unwavering support.
Major shareholder Desmond allegedly took a key role in the decision, even calling Lennon personally to offer his support to the Northern Irishman.

That suggests that the axe isn’t going to fall any time soon, with Lennon retaining the support of one of the biggest decision-makers at Parkhead.
Lennon still needs results quickly to turn the tide, or that support from Desmond may well run out and lead to a managerial change in the near future.
