Report shares decision Celtic expect Scott Brown to make on his future

Scott Brown reportedly has offers on the table as he runs into the final few months of his current Celtic contract.

Sources inside Celtic remain confident that Scott Brown will sign a new contract and snub the chance to leave Parkhead, according to a report from the Evening Times.

Brown is facing an uncertain future. The Evening Times reports that the 33-year-old’s Hoops deal expires in the summer, and he has offers from two MLS sides as well as from Western Melbourne as they prepare for their first season in A-League.

The report suggests that if he left Celtic, Australia would be his first choice, with Melbourne making a ‘lucrative’ offer for the Bhoys skipper ahead of a potential July move.

However, the Evening Times suggest that their sources inside Celtic remain optimistic that Brown will agree to their offer, which would see the veteran take on a coaching role with the club once he finishes playing.

It would be a blow to lose Brown in the near future. He has been the Scottish Premiership’s best midfielder over the last few years, and has led Celtic to so much success in recent seasons.

Callum McGregor is looking set to be more than capable of succeeding his teammate in that crucial midfield role in the near future. But Brown has been so influential that keeping him for the rest of his career would surely be a huge boost to Celtic’s chances of maintaining their domestic dominance.
