According to the Daily Mail, Daniel Levy will offer Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager the chance to keep Gareth Bale at the club into next season.
It’s claimed that Spurs fancy keeping Bale because they think it would cost a lot to replace him, and feel he is needed in a potential season of transition next term.
Tottenham do have first option on extending Bale’s season-long loan deal by another year, paying £240,000-a-week of his Real Madrid wages.
Bale would have to agree to such a move, but the club’s next manager will ultimately have a say on whether to try and activate that option.
Jose Mourinho may have been manager when Bale re-joined Spurs, but he never really seemed keen on the Welshman, regularly leaving him out of the Tottenham side.
Bale reminded everyone of his quality with a superb hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday night, and fans would surely love to see him return for another year.
It’s unclear just who Tottenham’s manager will be next season following Mourinho’s exit, and they will need to decide whether Bale fits their plans.

If the new boss plays a high-pressing, high-energy style, then there may be question marks over whether Bale is ideal for that kind of style.
He fared well in a similar style under Ryan Mason on Sunday, but with his advancing years and injury history, it’s a worthwhile conversation.
Still, many managers would love to have Bale offered up at their next club, and that’s a situation that will be presented to the next Tottenham boss.
