According to the Daily Record, Celtic are in no rush to sell defender Kristoffer Ajer amid links with a move to Liverpool.

It’s claimed that AC Milan and Leicester City want Ajer, whilst the Daily Star noted earlier this week that Liverpool are keen.

Last week, The Herald reported that Ajer’s representatives had asked Celtic for their asking price to leave the club, just hours after crashing out of the Champions League.

This new report now states that Celtic want £20million for Ajer, and have yet to receive any firm bids for him.

The Norwegian is undoubtedly a big talent, as he possesses great size, height and ability on the ball having started out as a midfielder.

Ajer, 22, looks set for a big future, and whilst he has shown some relative inexperience as a centre back at Celtic, it’s no great shock that big clubs want him.

With Shane Duffy on board, Celtic may well feel they can now cash in on Ajer and reinvest the money elsewhere.

Liverpool have seen Virgil van Dijk become a star at Anfield, and may now want to add another defender who thrived at Celtic in Ajer – but whether they would pay that £20million fee remains to be seen.
