West Ham United are set to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.

West Ham have given Moyes a contract until the end of the season, but they are still set to back their new manager with funds.
The Hammers board are keen for Moyes to be able to bring in his own players, to give the Scot the best chance of improving on his side’s current league position.

And Moyes is already believed to be lining up targets which could strengthen West Ham’s team.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is high up on Moyes’ wishlist, as the former Manchester United and Sunderland boss looks to strengthen his new side’s midfield.

Moyes could also have his eye on bolstering other areas of his squad, with a new defender likely to be on his wishlist.
Moyes takes charge of West Ham for the first time tomorrow, when his side take on Watford at Vicarage Road.
