Arsenal reportedly have a new plan for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon hitman is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium next summer, meaning that the Gunners must either sign him up to a new deal, sell him or risk losing him for free 12 months down the line.
Aubameyang is a massive player for Arsenal and one who has 49 Premier League goals in 75 outings.
It’s been reported previously that the 30-year-old didn’t plan on extending his contract in North London.
But according to The Telegraph, Arsenal’s hierarchy hope that their stellar relationship with his father, Pierre Francois, can lead to the former Borussia Dortmund marksman agreeing new terms.
The report added, however, that there’s been no breakthrough in negotiations between the Gunners and their star player as of yet.
Keeping Aubameyang is absolutely vital.
Considering he turns 31 next week, and has only a year left on his contract, Arsenal could get peanuts for him, relative to his talent.
Even if they get £20 million, which is perhaps optimistic in the current climate, are they going to be able to use that money to sign somebody on his level? Absolutely not. Aubameyang, a joint-Golden Boot winner last season, is priceless to the club.
