Leeds United are still on the look out for a new manager following Garry Monk’s departure, and initially wanted David Wagner.
According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United initially wanted Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner to be in charge at Elland Road next season.
Leeds were rocked when Garry Monk resigned from his post last month.
And the Whites still have not been able to appointment Monk’s replacement, with Andrea Radrizzani assessing his options.
Part of the reason why Leeds have taken so long to find Monk’s successor is because Radrizzani’s initial plan was scuppered.
Leeds had planned to approach Wagner, who had guided Huddersfield into the play offs.
However, Huddersfield’s promotion means that the German is now set to stay with the Terriers.
Leeds are now being forced to look elsewhere, with a number of candidates already linked to the job at Elland Road.
