According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic will be paying around £25,000-a-week of Shane Duffy’s £45,000-a-week wages.
It’s claimed that the Bhoys are set to snap up Brighton and Hove Albion defender Duffy on loan for the season inside the next 24 hours.
West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion both wanted to sign Duffy, but he wanted a move to Celtic having grown up supporting the club.
In fact, Brighton allegedly agreed to let Duffy go to Celtic as a personal thank you for his service to the club, once he had made it clear that he only wanted to join the Bhoys.
The Premier League clubs would have given Brighton more lucrative deals, but Duffy is set to secure his move to Glasgow.

The 28-year-old will give Celtic a proven defender to solidify a back line that couldn’t keep out Ferencvaros in the Champions League last week.
With Kristoffer Ajer’s future unclear, Duffy could form a strong partnership with Christopher Jullien in the heart of the Celtic defence – and marks a real coup for Celtic given the rival interest in him.
