According to Transfer20, Sevilla have conceded beating Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain to Sergio Reguilon will be difficult as they now target Bayer Leverkusen’s Wendell.

Reguilon spent the past season on loan at Sevilla from Real Madrid.

The talented fullback made quite an impression in Andalusia, with Sevilla hoping to re-sign him while Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen.

But the latest from Transfer20 claims Sevilla are all-but giving up in the chase.

The Spanish editorial cite Arsenal among those chasing his signature, and as such, they have now opened talks over a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Wendell.

The Brazilian, 27, represents a cheaper option at around £5 million. Moreover, with his contract expiring in 2022, Wendell has informed Leverkusen of his desire to leave now.

Sevilla’s latest transfer plan is good news for Arsenal in their chase for Reguilon.

The Gunners have been busy looking to strengthen under new manager Mikel Arteta. Left-back was a problem area, prior to Kieran Tierney finding some form.

Reguilon demonstrated his talent in La Liga last term, providing eight assists.

ESPN claimed a week ago that Real Madrid will accept just £23 million for the marauding fullback whose form has warranted a call-up to Spain’s national squad.

Moreover, a report by Defensa Central this week claimed Sevilla were convinced Reguilon is set for a Premier League move after employing agent Kia Joorabchian.

If reports are true, Arsenal now appear to be among the frontrunners for his signature.
