According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero could now head to Major League Soccer after missing out on a move to Everton.
It’s claimed that Romero thought he was signing for Everton on deadline day, but United played hardball and demanded a fee for the Argentinian.
Everton went and signed Robin Olsen on loan from Roma instead, leaving Romero crushed as he saw the chance of an exit slip away.
The 33-year-old is back in Argentina as he waits for his future to be resolved, with no interest in being third-choice behind David De Gea and Dean Henderson.
Romero is ‘unhappy’ with United, and wants to make a move to the United States, where the transfer window is open until October 29th.
No specific MLS clubs are mentioned, but Romero has seemingly picked out a move to the States as the next step for him, rather than heading to other open markets like Portugal or Russia.

Everton wanted Romero to be a quality competition for the faltering Jordan Pickford, but were priced out of a move at the last minute, meaning Olsen joined instead.
The Swede maybe isn’t quite at Romero’s level, but came cheaper – and that was key for the Toffees having splashed out on Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Ben Godfrey.
