According to the London Evening Standard, Serge Aurier is expected to push for a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
It’s stated that Spurs were willing to sell the Ivorian last summer. However, they didn’t receive an adequate bid to let him go, with Aurier himself keen to leave.
Aurier has now entered the final two years of his contract at Tottenham, and allegedly has little desire to agree a new deal.
The 27-year-old – signed from Paris Saint-Germain for £23million by Mauricio Pochettino in 2017 – is Tottenham’s first-choice in a problem area for Spurs, and if he does leave, Spurs may need two signings there.
Jose Mourinho allegedly wants a more physical right back than Kyle Walker-Peters, though Japhet Tanganga can play there too.
Aurier is currently going through a traumatic time, as his brother Christopher sadly passed away on Monday. He subsequently didn’t train that day, and Spurs may give him compassionate leave ahead of the clash with Newcastle.

Tottenham’s focus will rightly be on ensuring Aurier is coping with just horrendous news, and they will no doubt take all measures to protect him and his well-being.
His future won’t be of great focus right now, but it may be a topic for the club to consider in the coming months.
