According to Transfer20, reported Rangers target Sekou Gassama has a 50% chance of leaving Real Valladolid this summer following several proposals.

The former Senegal U21 international only joined Spanish side Valladolid in January.

But Gassama was then subsequently loaned out to Spanish second division side Fuenlabrada where he made quite an impact, posting three goals in his first three games.

The 6ft 2inch striker’s form has reportedly caught the interests of several clubs.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, one of those being Scottish Premiership side Rangers with Steven Gerrard’s side launching an alleged £2.7 million bid to sign him.

Nothing has since come of that reported Rangers offer.

But the latest from Transfer20 claims Gassama could leave. His agent claims a transfer away is 50-50 while several foreign clubs have taken an interest.

Could Rangers be one of them? Well, the Gers have already strengthened their attacking options with the arrivals of Kemar Roofe plus Cedric Itten from St Gallen.

The future of Alfredo Morelos, however, remains uncertain and a potential exit may leave a big void to fill at Ibrox as Rangers seek to end Celtic’s stranglehold on Scottish football.

Gamassa is a different type of striker to the likes of Roofe and Defoe. He is physically imposing, energetic and leads the line well while having an eye for goal.

Rangrs have started their domestic title charge on fire, setting a record for clean sheets. But, with their 0-0 draw against Livingston acting as a warning, the challenge will be to remain consistent and clinical in-front of goal.
