According to the Daily Record, Burnley are keen to raid Celtic for playmaker Ryan Christie before the transfer window closes next month.

It’s claimed that Sean Dyche has admired Christie for a long time, and wanted him way back when he was at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Dyche has continued to watch him over the last five years, and now wants to make a ‘big money bid’ for the Scot before the October deadline.

Christie has just under two years left on his Celtic contract, and talks are ongoing over a new deal with Lennon reluctant to sell.

The 25-year-old smashed 19 goals in all competitions last season, whilst he also chipped in with 16 assists in a stunning campaign.

Christie is off to a great start this season too, hitting three goals and six assists in 11 appearances for Celtic so far this term.

Christie is particularly appealing given his ability to play as a number 10 or on either flank, and he would certainly bring additional creativity to the Burnley side.

Whether they have the money to tempt Celtic into selling is a problem, and Christie may feel he can get an even bigger move if he stays and excels up until there is a year left on his Celtic deal.
