The Athletic claim Tottenham are in talks with Bournemouth over a loan or a permanent deal for defender Japhet Tanganga this summer. Scott Parker of course, has a strong connection with Spurs from his playing days.
London-born Tanganga, 23, managed 19 appearances for Tottenham last season. But injuries hampered his progress and he now sits some way down the pecking order at Spurs. Cristian Romero is first choice.

Tanganga might also be considered an option in the middle of the back three, or at right wing-back. But his best position is at right centre-back – and Romero is first choice, while Davinson Sanchez is his cover.
The report states that Bournemouth have opened talks to sign England Under-21 star Tanganga – over either a loan or a permanent basis. However, they will face competition for Tanganga from Milan and Napoli.
Bournemouth in talks for Tottenham defender Tanganga
Tanganga would be a brilliant signing for Bournemouth. Parker’s young side need some serious strengthening if they are to have a chance of avoiding the drop. Tanganga would be a superb defensive addition.
Sky Italy claim – as per Football Italia – that Spurs are willing to do business in the region of £8.5million and £10million. Antonio Conte has recently said that Tanganga has a “great sense of belonging” at Spurs.
But ultimately, he is third choice in his best position at Spurs. He needs a move, at least a loan to show Spurs what he is capable of – or, a permanent deal to finally join a team where he is first choice. Bournemouth is ideal.
