According to the Daily Record, Scott Brown has told Aberdeen to make a move for St Mirren talent Jamie McGrath.
It’s claimed that Brown – who joins Aberdeen from Celtic this summer – has already set about helping boss Stephen Glass by recommending McGrath.
McGrath’s deal with St Mirren ends in 2022, meaning Aberdeen would need to pay a six-figure fee to sign him this summer.
The Dons also face a battle with Peterborough United, as the League One side are keen to sign McGrath with a promotion to the Championship on the verge of being secured.
McGrath, 24, joined St Mirren in January 2020, having impressed in the League of Ireland with Dundalk and St Patrick’s Athletic.
The attacking midfielder has racked up 15 goals and five assists in all competitions this season, becoming a star for Jim Goodwin’s side.

It’s interesting that Brown is already having this kind of influence at Aberdeen, as he is still with Celtic and hasn’t even started his coaching role alongside Glass.
Having Brown’s seal of approval should be a real compliment to McGrath, and Aberdeen will hope that it helps them secure an exciting signing this summer.
