According to German newspaper Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung, Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac is wanted by Chelsea and Tottenham – and will decide his future in the next three weeks.
Kolasinac, 23, joined Schalke in 2011 after spells with Karlsruher, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart, and has become a first-team regular with the Gelsenkirchen side.
A Bosnian international with 17 caps to his name, Kolasinac has now racked up more than 100 first-team appearances for Schalke, scoring three goals.
The problem for Schalke is that Kolasinac is out of contract at the end of the season, and whilst the Bundesliga side refused to sell the defender in January, he continues to snub the opportunity to stay at the Veltins Arena.
Now, German newspaper Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung report that Kolasinac’s agent has indicated that the player will decide his future in the next three weeks, with four teams named as possible destinations.
Chelsea, Tottenham, Juventus and Inter Milan are all believed to be interested in signing Kolasinac, who could be an absolute bargain on a free transfer come the end of the season.
Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac celebrates
A versatile player who can play at left back, centre back, defensive midfielder or at wing back, Kolasinac is a strong and pacey player with huge potential, meaning managers should be keen to land him for nothing.
He looks to be an ideal option in a three-man defence with wing backs, making it no great surprise that Chelsea and Tottenham are both keen on Kolasinac due to Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino both favouring 3-4-2-1 systems this season.
First-team football may be easier to come by at Tottenham, especially if Ben Davies leaves the club in the summer, but the lure of joining Chelsea – who could be Premier League champions – may be too good to turn down.
