Leeds United will shortly be publishing their retained and released list, with Charlie Taylor’s exit expected to be confirmed then.

According to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United should be announcing Charlie Taylor’s decision to officially leave the club by the third weekend of the month.

That is when the Whites need to unveil their retained and released list, with Taylor’s name expected to be included on the latter.

Leeds do not wish to part company with the left-back but the player’s refusal to sign a new contract at Elland Road sees the club’s hands tied.

As reported by the YEP, West Bromwich Albion are among the clubs interested in signing the 23-year-old and he would make a fine signing for the Baggies. However he is likely to have plenty of suitors this summer and subsequently has a decision to make, just as Lewis Cook and Sam Byram did before him.

The pair moved to Bournemouth and West Ham United respectively and have struggled for game time ever since.

If Taylor moves to West Brom he is unlikely to experience the same struggles, but he could yet be seduced by a bigger club coming in.

It seems only a formality that Leeds will in theory be releasing Taylor this summer, and with only 10 days until the third weekend of the month, it will be interesting to see what decisions the club makes about some of his teammates.
