Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio are in talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira this summer. Talks over a permanent deal to Fiorentina have stalled between club and his representatives.
A previous report from TMW states that talks have reached an impasse between the two parties – and that Juventus are looking on. It is believed that Torreira, who cost Arsenal £26million (Mirror), can go for £12million.

Torreira has impressed back in Serie A football over the last 12 months – scoring five goals in 35 appearances. He is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Arsenal, and a move is likely this summer.
Now, it is believed Sarri and Lazio are in talks to land him – with developments expected in the ‘next few days’. Last summer, Lazio were in the race to get Torreira before Fiorentina landed the Uruguay international.
Lazio in talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Torreira as Fiorentina move stalls
Torreira has shown over the years that he is a very effective midfielder in Italian football. Indeed, his form in Italy got him the move to The Emirates from Sampdoria, after the 2018 World Cup.
There seems to be little chance that Arsenal decide to keep Torreira. While they could do with another midfielder, Torreira’s contract means they will have to sell him this summer in order to bring in some cash.
A move to Lazio might be a sign that Sarri is preparing for life without Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer. The Serbian is a target for a number of Premier League clubs.
