Juventus are reportedly pushing to sign Tottenham’s Danny Rose.
According to the Daily Mail, Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri has specifically asked that the club sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose this summer.
Rose, 29, joined Spurs from Leeds United way back in 2007, and has now racked up nearly 200 appearances for the club in a successful spell in North London.
The left back looked to be coming back to top form towards the end of last season, but he has now been left behind from Tottenham’s pre-season trip to Asia.
Mauricio Pochettino seemingly doesn’t want Rose anymore, and he has been allowed to stay back in London and attempt to find a new club.
It’s now thought that Sarri has demanded that Rose is signed, making one of his first transfer moves since becoming the new Juventus manager.
Juve do have Alex Sandro, meaning Rose would likely arrive as competition whilst Luca Pellegrini – recently signed from Roma – is groomed out on loan at Cagliari. At least, that’s what Sarri wants.
Rose has interest from other clubs, but playing for a perennial title challenger may be appealing, even if it’s not exactly the move back to the north of England that he’s wanted.
It would be another interesting move for a Spurs full back, as Kieran Trippier joined Atletico Madrid last week, and whilst Pochettino seemingly has no use for his two experienced English defenders, European giants appear to be very interested.
