Arsenal transfer chief Raul Sanllehi could yet change his mind over his policy, which suggested that the Gunners would never let a key player leave on a free transfer, according to The Sun.

With Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s contract at Arsenal running down there are fears that he could leave on a cut price deal this summer.

However, Arsenal have decided that they simply cannot let Aubameyang go too cheaply.

If Arsenal don’t receive over £20 million for their star striker this summer they have reportedly decided that they will just keep hold of him.

Arsenal would then be at risk of losing Aubameyang on a free, but Sanllehi apparently feels this is a gamble worth taking, in a u-turn on club policy.

While that could cost Arsenal money, it seems that the club have decided that keeping Aubameyang for a season could be worth £20 million for them, even if they are to lose him on a free transfer.

Aubameyang would be a hugely difficult to replace for Arsenal if he does leave this summer.

Even if the Gunners receive a big fee for him, finding another striker who can deliver the amount of goals would be extremely difficult for Mikel Arteta’s side.
