Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with Genk’s Sander Berge.

As reported by VG in Norway, Genk midfielder Sander Berge has penned a significant deal with Adidas – but could stand to earn even more if he joins Tottenham Hotspur.

Berge, 20, joined Genk from Valerenga in 2017, and has picked up 12 caps for Norway having become a poster boy for his country.

The giant holding midfielder, standing at 6ft 4in tall, looks set to become one of Europe’s top defensive midfielders in the coming years – and Adidas have spotted his potential.

VG state that Berge has penned a major deal with Adidas, describes as being ‘largest in the whole Nordic region’ with Adidas, even more than the likes of Josh King and Kasper Dolberg.

Berge’s deal is even believed to be rivalling Victor Lindelof and Emil Forsberg’s huge incomes, summing up just how marketable Berge is becoming in Norwegian football.

Intriguingly though, a line in VG’s report states; ‘it could increase significantly if Berge were to take the step to a larger club than Genk’, naming Tottenham or Roma as a potential destination.

As Spurs’ kit manufacturer is Nike, it’s unlikely that it would be a Spurs-specific clause. Instead, it may be a case of that, if Berge ends up with a Premier League or Serie A club, Adidas will pay out even more to the midfielder due to his increased marketability.

That may drive Berge into wanting a big move some time soon, and Tottenham – in talks with Genk about a deal according to Tuttomercatoweb having established him as a top target – could be a smart destination.

Sponsorship deals for Harry Kane and Dele Alli have been prominent off the back of starring for Spurs, and if Berge is already attracting these major deals whilst at Genk, imagine how much he could earn with a move to a club like Tottenham.
