West Ham United could offload Edimilson Fernandes this summer.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Sampdoria are interested in pursuing a deal for West Ham United midfielder Edimilson Fernandes this summer.
Sampdoria finished right in midtable last season as they came 10th in Serie A, and that resulted in them losing one of their star players in Lucas Torreira.
The Uruguayan World Cup ace has completed a move to Arsenal after starring in Italy, and whilst Sampdoria landed Jakob Jankto in a surprise deal from Udinese, they aren’t quite done with midfield reinforcements yet.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Sampdoria are considering other midfielders such as Stephane M’Bia, as well as West Ham United’s Edimilson Fernandes.
Fernandes, 22, started just nine Premier League games last season, and The Times recently reported that he is primed for the chopping block and likely to be made available under new boss Manuel Pellegrini.
The Swiss talent arrived with high hopes after Slaven Bilic snapped him up from Sion in 2016, but hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in East London, having largely failed to find a position.

Primarily a playmaker with Sion, Fernandes has been dropped back into a central midfield role and even as a right-wing back, with West Ham so far unable to develop him.
West Ham may now be open to selling Fernandes should Sampdoria come calling, and may actually hope to offload him in order to raise funds after a spending spree this summer.
