Manchester United are asking £6.5 million for Aston Villa loan star, Sam Johnstone – who wants a permanent move to Villa Park, according to the Sun.

Johnstone has impressed for Villa this season, prompting United to trigger an option to extend his contract until June 2019.

However, the Sun reports the 24-year-old has yet to hear about Jose Mourinho’s plans for next season and claims Manchester United are willing to sell him for the right price.

Villa’s Financial Fair Play concerns are well-documented, and, at that price, a permanent move for Johnstone – who is said to earn £25,000 a week at Old Trafford – may not be feasible if they fail to secure Premier League football next season.
