The former Crystal Palace manager has played and coached at West Bromwich Albion.
Former Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce is unlikely to succeed Tony Pulis at West Bromwich Albion, according to Sky Sports.
Allardyce, who was born in nearby Dudley, had brief spells at the Hawthorns as player and coach.
However, the 63-year-old said recently he was not interested in another bottom-end Premier League role – having kept up both Sunderland and Palace over the past two campaigns.
He later claimed to have broken away from negotiations over the vacant Everton position, after talks ‘failed to materialise as I thought they would’.
However, another former Crystal Palace manager, Alan Pardew, is very much in the running for the West Brom post, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster describes Pardew as ‘the early front-runner’ to take the Baggies reins, but adds that no formal contact has been made at this stage.
The 56-year-old is said to have a strong relationship with West Brom technical director Nick Hammond, having worked with him at Reading.
