According to the Chronicle, Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce will focus on adding pace and an increased goal threat to his side this summer.
The Black Cats are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window as Allardyce looks to mould the squad to better suit his needs.
They survived relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth last season and everyone at the club is keen to avoid that situation again.
And according to the Chronicle that has led to him seeking to add pace and a goal threat to his side in this transfer window.
They are not the only things he is looking to improve though, with the report also claiming that adding cover in defence and midfield is also on his to do list.
It will come as no surprise that Allardyce is looking to add more of a goal threat to his team given how heavily they relied on Jermain Defoe last season.
The veteran striker scored 15 goals in the Premier League, more than Fabio Borini, Steven Fletcher, Duncan Watmore and Dame N’Doye managed combined.
That is not an ideal situation by any means and it is likely that another striker is his first priority for this summer transfer window as a result.
