According to the Mirror, he is prepared to hand striker Jermain Defoe an international return, three years after his last appearance for his country.

Allardyce worked with Defoe at Sunderland last season, and was hugely impressed by his performances, as he scored 18 goals in all competitions despite the Black Cats struggling.
Should he start next season in similar form, he will consider bringing him into the squad to take on the Czech Republic in September.
