Everton have been linked with the Celtic striker several times in the past.
Sam Allardyce is understood to believe that Celtic’s Moussa Dembele would be a very good option for Everton, claims Gambling Times reporter Graeme Bailey.
He adds, however, that the Toffees boss is not the only one keen on Dembele, with Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion also credited with interest.
The Frenchman hinted earlier this week that he may not be at Celtic Park come the start of next season, and the Bhoys are said to be bracing themselves for bids in January.
“I can say it is part of the plan [to stay] but the plan can change,” he said. “It can change. As long as I am here I will give 100 per cent but I don’t until when. I just focus on my football and give my best for the club and we will see.”
Bailey writes that Celtic know it would be hard to turn down a big money offer for Dembele, who has two-and-a-half-years left on his contract.
And Allardyce admitted via the Guardian this week that he is looking to add a goalscorer when the winter window reopens, with Everton having struggled in the absence of Romelu Lukaku.
Last month, former Everton and Celtic defender Alan Stubbs recommended the 21-year-old’s services in an interview with the Daily Mail.
“I think Everton are crying out for that type of striker [Dembele]. They need someone who is big, strong, powerful, and obviously scores loads of goals,” he said.
“He’d be a good fit for Everton right now, but obviously Celtic just want to see him out there scoring goals, and the more goals he scores, the more pound notes.”
Dembele cost Celtic around £500,000 at the end of his Fulham contract in 2016, and has scored 40 goals in 66 games for the Bhoys.
The Sun reported in June that Everton were ready to bid £30 million to bring him back to England.
