Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United are rivalling Newcastle United in the race to sign Salomon Rondon.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United are both said to be keen on buying Rondon from West Bromwich Albion, who impressed on loan at Newcastle over the past campaign.
Wolves and West Ham are thought to be more keen to pay Rondon’s £16.5 million release clause than Newcastle, who are stalling over making the transfer permanent.
But Rondon is holding out in the hope that Newcastle do come in for him.
Rafael Benitez is desperate to bring Rondon to St. James’ Park, but the transfer would go against Mike Ashley’s policy.
Ashley only wants to bring younger players to Newcastle, but Rondon is 29.

It may be that Rondon has to pick between Wolves or West Ham, as they are the two clubs who are definitely willing to pay the fee West Brom want.
Rondon scored 10 goals for Newcastle over the past campaign and scooped their Player of the Season award.
