Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas is believed to be very popular in the dressing room and has a particularly great relationship with Mohamed Salah.
That’s according to The Athletic, who suggest that Tsimikas is appreciated by his teammates despite a fairly uneventful first season at Anfield.
Salah is an influential player at Anfield, and it does bode well for Tsimikas that he is making such an impact as a person as he looks to impress as a player.
The 24-year-old has only played five minutes of Premier League football this season since arriving from Olympiacos last summer, and has made just three starts in all competitions.
First-team football has been hard to come by for the Greek international, but having the support of Salah should be encouraging for him.
It’s added that Jurgen Klopp has been reluctant to use Tsimikas because of Liverpool’s defensive issues this season.
This seems pretty wise from the German; he’s had to chop and change his centre backs regularly this season, whilst Alisson has missed games too.

Bringing Tsimikas into the side for Andrew Robertson every now and then would have brought more upheaval to the Liverpool back line, as throwing in a player with limited Premier League experience would have been risky.
Instead, Robertson has been a rare constant in the Liverpool back four, offering reliability and consistency in a tricky season.
Tsimikas was ultimately brought in as his backup, and may need to remain patient into next season before he gets regular chances.
