According to Tuttomercatoweb, Southampton have made a £16 million bid for reported Newcastle United and Burnley target Omar Colley.
The Sampdoria defender has been heavily linked with a move away from the club.
A report last week by Calciomercato claimed Newcastle and Burnley are keen.

Colley, meanwhile, favours a move to the Premier League as Sampdoria News also cite West Ham United as suitors while the player’s family used to live in London.
But it seems Southampton are now leading the race for his signature.
TMW say the Saints have launched a bid in the region of £16 million for him.
Colley, 27, started 30 Serie A games in 2019-20, averaging 4.8 clearances per game (Whoscored).
In June, his agent claimed there was Premier League interest as early as January.
“Already in January there were real interests from the Premier League. No offers have been made, but he could adapt himself to English football by characteristics,” Umberto Riva told TMW.
Southampton have already strengthened their defence this summer with the arrival of Mohammed Salisu who joined from La Liga side Real Valladolid.

The Saints may see Colley, standing at 6ft 3inch, as necessary with fellow centre back Jannik Vestergaard’s future uncertain amid Leicester City links (Daily Mail).
Both Burnley and Newcastle also have reason to strengthen their defence, but the Saints appear to be in the stronger position financially to make a deal happen.
