Liverpool have a plethora of attacking options but Sadio Mane reportedly wants the club to sign another attacker in the coming months.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Don Balon, Sadio Mane has requested the Liverpool board to sign Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze in the coming windows.

Daily Mail reported earlier in this that Liverpool and Manchester City were considering a move for the now 20-year-old winger but a deal failed to materialise. Chukwueze scored eight goals and provided three assists in all competitions for Villarreal last season but he is well on course to surpass that this term.

The Nigerian already has two goals and two assists in just five starts this season and fellow African winger Sadio Mane has seen something in him that has convinced him that he would be a good fit for Liverpool, according to reports in Spain.

Quick and tricky players thrive under Jurgen Klopp as evident at Liverpool with Mane and Mo Salah. With Alex Oxlade Chamberlain now moved into central midfield, Chukwueze could come in and fill a void but it is unlikely that he will be a regular starter.

Liverpool’s front three of Mane, Salah and Firmino are arguably the best in the league and Klopp has no reason to change that in the very immediate future. However, a player on the rise like Chukwueze would be a worthy investment in the next two transfer windows.

The report claims that the 20-year-old will cost in the region of £26million which would be an absolute bargain in this current inflated transfer market. Liverpool could either integrate him into their current setup or move him on in a couple of years for a healthy profit which makes this a low risk, high reward deal.
